It's High Time…

…I remember I had a blog I think. The ADA has been shut down for the holiday and a little R&R was very good for this particular institution. But somebody had to come back in and turn the lights on, make sure the ToddRodd/Trapp/Ted From Accounting clique hadn’t broken into the main building and stolen any of those tests again (this actually happened at my high school and if it wasn’t such a boring story that I barely remembered, I’d tell it to you now). Everything seems to be in order! Guess all the troublemakers have been off eating hot dogs…

I’m having some difficulty keeping track of what I’ve told you guys and what I haven’t but here are some things:

The LAist piece did end up winning Most Popular (hooray, ADAers — you helped make this honor possible) so it went on a whole slew of sites, including Londonist, Chicagoist and the other ists out there.

The Bought party in New York got a nice write-up from book blogger extraordinnaire Ron Hogan. Michelle Gielan interviewed me on her CBS show, Up To The Minute. The issue of Redbook that recommends Bought came out. And this review came out today on the MavTV blog. Now I’m suffering from workaholic-induced amnesia and can’t remember if I linked to this Urban Muse interview or the one on Allison Winn Scotch’s site. Or this starpulse one? Also, this one on asylum isn’t much of an interview per se but hey, pictures are worth — what is it? — something like 1000 words, right?

Real life sets in again tomorrow with work meetings and an Attack of the Show shoot until the wee hours of the am…and then there’s Mom coming into town just in time for the masses to show up at the Bought L.A. event (I’m practicing “The Secret” on that…will let you know if it works.) Since it looks like I’m going to be taking a few days off of school, I’m giving Joe the keys to the faculty lounge and asking Mike to be on the lookout for any suspicious characters.

Oh! Amazon number still in the thousands. This is good. (Also: ADA students who have written their reviews are excused from English lit classes for the rest of the semester; students who have finished the text but haven’t completed the assignment are on academic probation.) P.S. The reviews supposedly make a big difference in terms of sales. And there’s always the possibility of earning S.O.T.W. status.

Nice to see you having some fun and taking some time for you Miss Anna!!

Toddrod was a little worried that he would not do very well on Ms. Anna’s upcoming midterms. However, while Toddrod was writing cheat notes on his arms and legs he suddenly realized that the process of trying to cheat on this midterm was also a method of studying that Toddrod had never tried before. Toddrod knows the material, and should be making the A grade in a most ethical manner. Toddrod just hopes that Mike lets him into class; Toddrod is a most suspicious looking fellow.

Congrats Ms. Anna on the completion of such an important week in your life. Toddrod hopes that you are feeling a great sense of satisfaction, and contribution to society. Toddrod also just realized at this very moment that he accidentally wrote this post in the third person. Toddrod is so silly!

I figured the LAist article would wind up Most Popular. The earthquake was only a 4.7 and Anna is rated between 6.3 and 6.8 (scientists are still trying to determine her exact seismic impact on the world).

We’re all planning a party for you when you get back to the ADA, Anna. It will be in the teacher’s lounge and we’ll have lots of food, balloons, party favors and a cake. And we’re all going to dress up as characters from Bought. Ted is going to be Jessica (I can’t wait to see him in a short skirt and spiky heels – he promised to shave his legs!), Toddrod will be Emma, Trapp is dressing up as Claire, Mike will be Ethan (he didn’t want to dress up as a girl), Karpaydm will be Amanda, Dave wants to be Antonio, and I’m going as Kristi (a very, very trashy Kristi). I haven’t heard back from the others yet.

Have another great week, Principal Anna!

Great job on the interviews, Anna. I think I’ve caught up on all of it. Good luck with the L.A. event, continued success with everything else. I’m always sending positive thoughts your way, even when I’m not feeling so positive. Looking forward to seeing you on AOTS.

great you are taking some time for r&r, much needed i’m sure after a hectic week and more of the same coming up. all of the interviews/blog stories were great, can’t have enough of that!

fear not, the school will be secure while you are busy. there won’t be any cliques stealing anything. they’re easy to identify, they smell like hot dogs. and fear not toddrod, if i see you and your pass is in order, you’ll be fine. i have a much closer eye on ted, he’s trouble.

Awesome job out there in LA, Anna

Plus the interview on Friday afternoon with Diana Falzone was simply amazing!

    Have a great trip!

I’m happy to hear that everything is going well… unfortunately I am still waiting for my copy of Bought to arrive up here in Canadia. I will be sure to post my glowing review once it does ;)

  • Trapp says:

My head is spinning catching up on everything. These are great interviews. Your openness about everything you do is really refreshing, and is another niche you’re carving out for yourself.

Don’t worry about Thursday. That happens to be Trapp’s birthday, and you are therefore guaranteed to be great.

Regarding the test, it’s still in your office. We broke in, but then decided that it was indeed “high time”, and a few minutes later, we forgot all about why we were there. Sorry about all that smoke.
