Q: DO YOU HAVE ANY REGRETS ABOUT STARTING TO WORK WHEN YOU WERE SO YOUNG? A: Well, I think it’s a lot of pressure when you’re a kid and you’re out there in the public eye. You’re probably not mentally developed enough to handle the scrutiny of the entertainment industry. I think it would help to become a stronger and fuller person before people start poking at you in such a public way.
Q: HOW DID YOU HANDLE THAT? A: The character Kelly on Married…With Children was so confident in her clothes, yet I wasn’t confident with my body. I was just a kid. So I think I went through a weird time when I was younger. I’m more comfortable in my skin now than I ever have been. Now I don’t care if I have stuff hanging over.
Q: DID ACTING EVER PREVENT YOU FROM HAVING A NORMAL LIFE? A: I went through some things that I don’t think I ever dealt with because I was busy working and I just had to pull myself up by my bootstraps and be on time.
Q: LIKE WHAT? A: I don’t feel comfortable talking about most of it with anyone, but I was in an abusive relationship. I’m okay admitting that now, 10 years later, and saying that I don’t think I’ve ever really dealt with the emotional repercussions of it. It’s interesting to look at that and wonder why it happened and move on from it. But I’m okay. I’m in a good place right now. I feel pretty darn good.
