Courtney Wagner and Anita Ko, best friends and co-proprietors of the eponymous Wagner & Ko, are the designing duo behind the latest de rigueur jewelry line of Hollywood’s younger set. Their unique and dazzling trinkets are crafted from brilliant black, white, pink, and green diamonds, and from precious stones such as emeralds, sapphires, and rubies. “Our customers have their own personal syle. They’re women who mix bohemia with glamour,” explains Wagner, the daughter of Robert Wagner and the late Natalie Wood. Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, Gwen Stefani and Christina Applegate – who memorably sparkled in Wagner & Ko marquise-shaped dangly diamond earrings as she made her acceptance speech at last year’s Emmy Awards – are among the many devotees who spend anywhere from $350 to $25,000 for one of these pieces, sold at Maxfield and Tracey Ross in L.A. and New York’s Scoop. Though the girls are, for the most part, blasé about their well-known client list, they turn giddy when they recall tuning in to The Osbourne Family Christmas Special in December and seeing their signature circle diamond necklace around Ozzy’s neck. “We were both like, ‘Oh my God!,'” admits Ko in language that immediately outs her as a California girl. “We loved that.”
